I have lived in the UK for more than 37 years. I have worked very hard in the factory and then in restaurants.
I was sent to UK to look after my family in Bangladesh, and this is what I have done for many many years after my brothers and sisters was married and set for life. Then I have started doing things for myself and my family. I have bought a small piece of land and made a house, when I was building the house, my brother ran the project for me. He has overcharged me thousands and thousands of pound but I didn’t care much because I was thinking at the end of the day he is my brother and if anything he can just take it, but when the house was finished, I have got my brother to look after my house and maintain it for me while I was not there then a time come where I went to Bangladesh with my family to show them the house and to rest, but when I got there my brother asked me why I haven’t told him before I come to Bangladesh because he is living in the house partially and renting it to other people as well now he cannot get them to go out of the house and he doesn’t have anywhere to stay so I had to rent a hotel and stay in a hotel with my family. When I started the discussion of them to move out of my house. My brother and his sons got very angry at me and they started threatening me. I feel sad and ashamed that after many many years of hard work and I have supported them. This is what it’s come to. I did try to go to the local authorities but local authorities did not care about my statement my brother and his sons had more influence over the local authorities. I had no choice to, but to ask BPKP for their advice and support, they have then spoken to the local authorities and started the process of resolving my issues. I am grateful to BPKP for their advice and constant support. I am a member of BPKP now and I wish to help and support others in the same position.

I want to keep my name anonymous because the case is still running and I don’t want people to know exactly who I am and where I live. It might jeopardise the case. I am a very elderly person that has lived in the UK for 52 years. Me and my brother come to the UK to work hard and support our family and I am grateful to Allah that my family are now all stable and settled and they have got married and they live in the UK as well as US.
My father had major issues in Bangladesh with land house and properties. I never wanted to do anything in Bangladesh because I have lost all hope after many years and all my family settled children married off. I have been persuaded by my friend to buy a piece of land in my village That somebody was selling due to an emergency, so I discussed it with my family to buy the land that will help this family as well as I will have something in Bangladesh to show for. The first race season, the person that sold me the land ask me if they can grow rice on that piece of land because I was not utilising it so I have given them permission to do so, they have done that for three years now, when I had decided to build a little house there for my children, they have said I cannot build anything there because they are using my land to grow rice and they will not stop because it will affect their family. I have asked them but they sold me the land and I would like to build on this land myself. They did not agree with me and they did not give me my money back conversation escalated and we have called the local elders to come and sort this issue out but they all came and sadly supported this person. I asked them to give me my money back that I have paid for this land and they refuse to do so when I told them, I will go to the local authorities and put a case against them. They threaten me and told me that I will not be able to leave my house if I do so I will be physically harmed and my family will be in danger. I have asked a friend for advice while we was scared for our life in the house and my friend advised me to contact BPKP. I am so grateful to them for immediately sending help to my village and getting me and my family out of this mess and taking us to the airport and send us back to the UK. I have no hope for this land anymore I will not be spending too much money on the ongoing case against this land, I am just grateful to BPKP that me and my family are safe
I will truly advise my fellow NRBs that if they purchase anything in Bangladesh, please do the dealings like you would do anywhere else in the world you give paperwork receipt and everything should be documented.

My father’s name is Anwar Ali, I am the eldest daughter and I got married living in the UK. I have seven brothers and sisters and they always respected me and look up to me. I have been living in the UK for 29 years and my he’s a very hard-working person. He doesn’t really like going to Bangladesh because of the issues that he had in Bangladesh after my father passed away. My mother asked me to come to Bangladesh and sort out all my fathers lands and divided between my brothers and sisters. Initially everybody agreed and when I got there we all sat down to discuss matters. Unfortunately some people have spoken to my brother and poisoned his mind and now he is not very happy to see me in Bangladesh. He is not taking any of my decisions and plans because of one person and not agreeing to the plan and dividing the property nicely amongst everybody. It has caused major issues and my brothers and sisters. I’m not happy with each other anymore. My brother that caused the problem. Initially he was getting advised by some people in our village because they had benefit if my brother does not agree, and the land is left, as it is with no people looking after in it and no people claiming for its rights, after many many months of trying to sort this out, I have asked my husband to help me resolve this matter. He said he cannot do so, but if I want to, I can go to BPKP and seek advice we are still trying to work this issue out and BPKP have stood by me all the way I am grateful to BPKP and I am a life member I will support and stand by them, and I hope their voice and their campaign to Bangladesh government regarding an RV properties in Bangladesh is safe and secure and Bangladesh government should come up with a proper structure to support and help and RVs that are facing these kind of issues. BPKP are the only organisation that are physically helping people all over the world and are busy working so hard and supporting them and standing by them in Bangladesh when there is a problem.

I went to Bangladesh with my whole family after the pandemic was over, I wanted to see my parents and my family that have survived the horrific pandemic period me and my family heard so much news about Bangladesh and the situation they were in and the harassment in the airport, but we were hoping for the best and I could not wait any longer, so we went on school holidays.
We have done all our test vaccinations and correct procedure of passenger location form. We have taken all safety matters into consideration when we went to UK airport. Everything was fine and checked. None of us had anything missing. No we had any issues with our sales when we go to Bangladesh at the airport we were accused of some paperwork being fraudulent and my family members were accused of being unwell. They have asked us to go to a hotel where the airport authority is selected for us and the cost was very very very extortionate. I asked them why are they doing this to us we have taken all risk and matters to come to Bangladesh but they were very angry at me and they Physically harass me, after very long conversation and hours of us being held at the airport just a matter of 15-20km from my house. I was very sad that I could not go and see my parents after travelling thousands of miles with my family. my mind was not working and I forgot initially that I was a member of BPKP and luckily I had my BPKP ID card on me, as soon as I told him this and I showed them my ID card they were very very nervous. I told them I have already contacted the secretary and our international affairs secretary. Regarding this matter they have immediately did not say anything and the officer that was being very rude to us just disappear and they come and talk to us nicely. Give all our paperwork and our baggage and let us go. I was very sad and very ashamed that I have taken all risk to go to Bangladesh at this very critical time and this is what they done, not all people in Bangladesh are bad, poverty and suffering makes people do very bad things. Hunger makes people do very bad things.
I believe in BPKP and I support BPKP, not just because they have help me. I was a member before I used BPKP‘s ID card for my personal benefit. I have worked with them for many years and supported them and campaign with them. We have got lots of campaigns for an RV is all over the world. We have already opened our branches around the world. We ask all Bangladeshi organisations to join us become one voice, note just for one village, not for just one town , not for just one aspect, for all NRBs aspects and issues stand with us and we will have a very loud voice and we will be stronger. I advise all people to join BPKP and please keep IDK a new, especially when you are travelling to Bangladesh.
